(Read The F@<%ing Manual),

His royalty is well known to have an appetite for batteries. Two duke-sized pistons and high compression is not a recipe for kick-starters, not even for downhill start. So as soon as the second battery started showing its weakness I decided to buy a battery tender. 65 euros seemed a reasonable price for a device with the impressive name (Landport) Power Commander 900. Its performance was impressive, too, as it needed less time to charge the battery, than I needed to remove it.
But first things first. I strongly believe in the R.T.F.M. (Read The F@<%ing Manual) when I have to deal with any device. So I studied my lesson, I gathered the required tools and some wet napkins. You see the battery is in the lower cowl, so it was covered in oil.
Imagine my surprise when being so thorough was not enough to remove the battery. The cause of this was an extra zip-tie that my mechanic put when he changed the battery. It was also black and very OEM-looking. It took me some time to notice but it is good to know that he is paying attention even in little things like that.
From there after it was the Power Commander 900’s turn to be in .. charge, and after 45 minutes its indicator showed that the battery was fully charged. I was expecting it to take more time, so I took some readings with the multimeter and decided to remount it on the bike. Added the extra zip-tie, too. It has been two weeks know and everything seems OK.

Bikes in Hague

You cannot afford to not have them when all your friends have underseat pipes (even if they are OEM on their bikes). Even if your bike was manufactured in an era you could. And I write could because the Fireblade in the picture was build around the same time as the Ducati 916 (It was not the first time though. We had seen them on the NR750 and even earlier on the RD500 to name a few). But with the four pipes of the MV Agusta F4 the design of the "underseat pipes" passed from the iconic level of the 916 to something closer to sacred. And then we saw them everywhere, from the VFR800 and the Fazer600 to the numerous mods for -almost- every sport bike.
But when the motogp arrived in 2002 they kind of restored the fame of the "on the side pipes". They were now under the motor though. You see centralised masses (on the side) were now more important than the aerodynamics (underseat). There was a beautiful Arrow kit for the CBR100RR, keeping the underseat pipe and adding one on the side, too, much like the RC211V.
Doesn't the Urban Growlerilla, the Super Duke that is, have underseat pipes? Of course it does, but it is a matter of the off-road tradition. :)
