Την είδαμε για πρώτη φορά στην EICMA του 2011 και πρόσφατα εκτέθηκε στο Παρίσι ως μέρος της έκθεσης "Οι εφτά εμμονές του ιταλικού σχεδιασμού", με την οποία η ιταλική πρεσβεία συμμετείχε στις "Designer's Days". Στο Μιλάνο παρουσιάστηκε ως πρωτότυπο φορώντας τους δυο νέους κινητήρες της Piaggio στα 125 και τα 150 κυβικά εκατοστά, με τις τριβάλβιδες κεφαλές και την χαμηλή κατανάλωση. Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες από το συνέδριο των αντιπροσώπων της Piaggio στο Μαϊάμι, έχει παρθεί η απόφαση για την παραγωγή της στα τέλη του 2012.
Οι υπέροχες γραμμές της δεν φαίνεται να προσφέρουν αποθηκευτικούς χώρους, όμως ας μην ξεχνάμε ότι ούτε οι δίχρονες προγονοί της με τις ταχύτητες στο χέρι προσέφεραν χώρους πέραν της ποδιάς. Χώρος ο οποίος δεν είναι και λίγος αν σκεφτείς πόσες σακούλες από τη λαϊκή χωράει η ποδιά της Κοντέσας. Είπαμε ιταλικό design, ναι, αλλά μια χαρά ταιριάζει με το έντονο κόκκινο της ντοματούλας..

It was unveiled in the EICMA 2011 and it was recently presented in Paris as a part of the exhibition "The Seven Obsessions of Italian Design", hosted by the italian embassy taking part in the "Designer's Days". In Milan it was a prototype carrying the two new Piaggio 3-valve engines, 125cc and 150cc, which are very economical fuel-wise. According to information revealed in the Piaggio dealers' convention in Miami, the 946's curves will be put in production, possibly later this year.
Its great loοks does not seem to offer much of storage space, but lets not forget that the two stroke Vespas with the gear selector in the left grip, did not have any either, just the available space in the leg shield. Which is not small if you consider how many bags of vegetables I carry from the weekly street fair, in my GTV. Italian design allright, but I guess it is compatible with the bright tomato red color..
